About Us

Our award-winning irrigation system simplifies your wheel lines and automates your hose rolls so your crops get the right water at the right time.

How It Started

Long days in the wilderness chasing elk and deer across Colorado, Idaho and Montana makes for a lot of time for a couple of guys to talk and solve the world’s problems.

One of those problems was the time and effort needed to constantly move wheel lines. For anyone who has moved a wheel line, you know that they can be a pain to move. It’s not the hardest work in the world, but it takes time and effort. Sometimes it requires waking up at unsightly hours or it pulls you away from another project to move a line. That frustration started the process to try and solve this problem.

The solution was born one September night in 2017. We simply thought, “Why can’t we use the water to power and move it?” From that night on, the development and refinement process started and HydroSide Systems was born.

From there, our passion for innovation led to water, energy and labor savings for farmers through our patent-pending HydroSide System. It is the first and only retrofit that automates a wheel line, traveling gun and traveling boom, and can pay for itself in 2 years or less. Our system will increase annual crop yield by more efficiently delivering water while saving significantly on your labor and energy costs. This all means more revenue per acre for the farmer and less headaches over staff management.

From there, our passion for innovation led to water, energy and labor savings for farmers through our patent-pending HydroSide System. Our hydroelectric system is the first and only retrofit that automates a traveling gun and traveling boom, and can pay for itself in 2 years or less. And while we tried hard, hydroelectric power just wasn’t the right fit for the wheel line, which lead our team to utilize innovation and technology to create a highly effective solar powered wheel mover. Our system will increase annual crop yield by more efficiently delivering water while saving significantly on your labor and energy costs. This all means more revenue per acre for the farmer and less headaches over staff management.

What makes
Hydroside different

At HydroSide, we have a set of beliefs that drive how we behave, inside and outside of work. You can expect to experience the results in every interaction.

We believe in being farm tough

When something is bomb proof, it means that object is strong enough to resist the effects of a bomb blast. Our products are kind of like that—except ours are farm proof. In other words, we specifically build our products to withstand the elements of rugged farm life. And this isn’t just lip service. We stand firmly behind our product durability with an industry-leading 2 year warranty.

We believe in the truth

We believe in the kind of truth you’d experience back in the day when your word meant your bond. Or, as Eric Church elegantly put it: “When I shake your hand and look you in the eye, you can bet your ass it’s the truth.” Truth communicates honesty and honesty communicates trust. And we all know that people only buy from someone they trust.

We believe comfort zones are overrated

Change produces growth. If HydroSide is going to lead the pack in precision irrigation, we have to keep innovating to grow. And to keep innovating we have to get uncomfortable, learn new things, and push the boundaries of our comfort zone. Why? Because that’s where growth takes place. This means that as soon as the pack begins to catch up, we need to make changes and try new things so we can stay ahead of the pack.

Chief Executive Officer

Dana brings to HydroSide a varied background from construction to working with entrepreneurs to a 10 year legal career as inhouse counsel for a forensic engineering firm. All of this prepared him to lead the HydroSide team as CEO.  The problem Dana first set out to solve (making wheel line movers easier to move) was thanks to the challenges voiced by his brother-in-law, David, while he was a farm hand in Hamilton, MT. Dana enjoys spending time with his wife and 2 daughters, and in his free time you will likely find him hunting, fishing, or shooting.

Sharon Mohr

Vice President of Marketing

Sharon has spent the last 10 years practicing law and running her own businesses until she co-founded HydroSide with her husband Dana Mohr. She grew up in the mid-west and transplanted to Montana in high school, where she saw firsthand through friends and family the challenges that growers face. When not at work, Sharon loves spending time with her husband and 2 daughters, boating, swimming, fishing, or really anything on the lake.
